Hope and faith do wonders to our lives

Hope is easy to confuse with optimism, but the two are not the same. Optimism expects things to turn out well. Hope trusts that God is at work, even in seasons when we cannot yet see how.

Throughout Scripture, faith and hope travel together. Abraham set out without knowing where he was going. The early church gathered and prayed while the future was anything but certain. Their confidence rested on who God is, not on what they could predict.

Practicing hope together

Hope grows best in community. When you are struggling to hold onto it, let someone else hold it for you for a while. That is part of what a church family is for.
